A day after Chaudhry Parvez Elahi remarked that government allies were tilted to join the opposition, the PML-Q leader has now said that his party is neither supporting the opposition for its no-confidence move nor is standing with the government.
In an interview with a private news channel on Tuesday, the PML-Q leader had categorically said that the opposition has support of enough lawmakers to oust the premier.
“We are coalition partners and a separate political party,” a statement issued by Elahi today said adding that there were differences of opinions within a political party but decisions were taken through consultation.
“PM Imran is an honest leader and his intentions are good,” he added,
He went on to say that the PML-Q has neither exited the coalition nor has joined the opposition.
“We are a part of the government and have stood by it through thick and thin,” he added.
The statement from the PML-Q leader comes at a time where both the government and the opposition are trying to woo political parties to vote for them in the no-confidence move.
