Pakistan reports zero Covid-19 deaths during last 24 hours

Date:

For the first time in two years, Pakistan reported zero deaths related to the coronavirus pandemic during the last 24 hours.
According to the data released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC), a total of 34,476 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and of them, 443 were tested positive while the overall positivity ratio remained at 1.28 per cent as compared to the 0.82 per cent a day earlier.
According to the NCOC, a total of 455 patients were in critical condition in hospitals across the country.
The NCOC said that no Covid-19-related death was reported in the last 24 hours and this was for the first time in almost two years.
Pakistan has already announced to lift all the Covid-19 related restrictions across Pakistan after a dip in cases.
“The pandemic has not ended yet but undergoing the ending phase,” Federal Minister for Planning and Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar had said while addressing a press conference at the NCOC.
There have been 1,522,419 infections and 30,333 coronavirus-related deaths reported in the country since the pandemic began
Pakistan has administered at least 219,368,557 doses of COVID vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs 2 doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 50.6% of the country’s population.
During the last week, Pakistan averaged about 475,805 doses administered each day. At that rate, it will take a further 92 days to administer enough doses for another 10% of the population.
As COVID-19 infections began to be reported around the world, many countries responded by shutting down places like schools, workplaces and international borders to contain the spread of the virus.
