At least four people were killed while another 36 were injured in a blast on Tuesday that took place in Balochistan’s Sibi.
The nature of the blast could not yet be determined.
The blast occurred near an open area where the annual Sibi Mela was being held, half an hour after President Arif Alvi attended the festival.
Condemning the attack, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo directed authorities to provide the best possible medical treatment to those injured in the blast.
Bizenjo further said that the blast was an attempt to sabotage the annual festival and overall peace in the province.
He vowed to thwart “all conspiracies against the province”.
The chief minister also directed authorities to tighten security in Sibi and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Last week 63 people were killed in a blast that took place during Friday prayers in a mosque in Peshawar.
