Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa attended the war game session at Kharian aimed at refinement and crystallisation of the formation’s plans.
According to a statement issued by the army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief also witnessed field demonstration encompassing perfection of drills, procedures and validation of new concepts and proficiency enhancement on newly acquired technologies.
The army chief appreciated the overall training spirit and proficiency of participating troops.
He commended the overall operational readiness of the formations against an evolving threat regime and emphasized learning relevant lessons from the ongoing conflicts around the world.
On the other hand, ISPR Director-General Maj-Gen Babar Iftikhar has said that the Pakistan army cannot get involved in political affairs as it has to deal with security challenges facing the country.
Talking to the private news channel, he said the entire nation loves the armed forces and the latter also reciprocated the same, and no rift can be created between the two.
Maj-Gen Babar Iftikhar said that it has been repeatedly requested to keep the armed forces out of the political talk.
The DG ISPR said that the decision of early elections is to be made by the politicians and the army has no role in it. He underlined that the army has never invited politicians for meetings.
