PML-N top leaders discuss options to tackle ‘transgressors of Constitution’

In a consultative meeting of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chaired by party supremo Nawaz Sharif in London, various options were discussed for taking decisive action against the transgressors of the constitution.

In a statement, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the PML-N leadership was unanimous in dealing with the violators of the constitution in accordance with the law. She did not specify who were the violators of the constitution.

PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif was briefed on the serious constitutional, economic and administrative issues inherited by the current government from the previous one, she said.

The information minister said that another meeting would be held on Thursday (today) to take final decisions to steer the country out of these challenges. She said that all the decisions would be announced with the endorsement of all the coalition parties.

The information minister said that the PML-N huddle was informed that the prices of petroleum products had not been increased to provide relief to the masses.

She said the meeting was also given a detailed briefing on the crisis created by the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in the energy sector, especially in form of load shedding.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the meeting also discussed various proposals to help the masses get rid of inflation by providing them relief.

She said that steps taken by the current government so far were also reviewed in detail during the huddle. The information minister said that the current political situation was also reviewed during the meeting.
