Nisar Ahmed Khuhro wins Senate polls

President Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh Nisar Ahmed Khuhro was elected Senator on the general seat from Sindh that fell vacant after the disqualification of PTI leader Faisal Vawda.

According to unofficial results, Khuhro secured 99 votes of the total cast 101 votes in the house of 168 members. Two votes were rejected.

Talking to media men along with Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah congratulated party leadership on the Senate seat.

The Senate seat fell vacant after ECP disqualified Vawda for life for submitting a false affidavit before the electoral body.

The PTI senator was disqualified by the election watchdog for violating Article 62(1)(f) which pertains to being “sadiq amin”.
