Imran Khan, in his interaction on Twitter, said that the Pakistan Army was far more important than him.

He went on to say that he never criticized the army and it was imperative that the army institution was made stronger.

“If we didn’t have a strong army Pakistan would have been divided into three long time ago,” the former premier said.

Imran condemned the smear campaign against the army and said it was being done on the behest of the enemy.

He added, that both Nawaz Sharif and Zadari during their time in the government criticized the army.

The PTI chief stated that people had become more politically aware now and added that the protests across many countries by overseas Pakistanis was unprecedented.

“I did not expect the response I received. I had anticipated about only 5 per cent of the people who took to the streets after my government was ousted.

“When I saw people I was so happy because I saw a nation emerging … for the first time I saw where we should have been 75 years ago,” he added.

In response to questions over ECP and PTI’s foreign funding case, the former premier said that the electoral body will not find anything against them.

He further said that when both PML-N and PPP’s foreign funding cases will be taken up with PTI, the ECP will understand that correct system his party was following.
