Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that inimical forces were threatening national cohesion through misinformation and propaganda.
During a visit to the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the army chief said that such forces must be identified and exposed and countered collectively through a unified response.
According to a press release issued by the army’s media wing, the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said that “Pakistan is blessed with dynamic and talented youth”.
While interacting with LUMS University students, the army chief said that “human resource development, innovation and technological advancements were vital for the country’s progress”.
During his visit to the LUMS, the army chief was revived by the University Vice-Chancellor Dr Arshad Ahmad Malik and faculty members and a large number of students.
The army chief’s remarks came on the heels of frayed political tempers in the country following the combined opposition parties submitted a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, whose supporters allege that foreign conspiracy being hatched to destabilise the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.
According to the ISPR, the army chief also attended the induction ceremony SH-15 self-propelled artillery guns in the Corps of Artillery.
“Induction of these most modern guns with increased range, battlefield mobility and accuracy would assuredly enhance operational preparedness of Pakistan Army,” the COAS said, according to the ISPR.
Gen Bajwa expressed his satisfaction on the induction of the state-of-the-art weapon system to meet future battlefield challenges.
