PML-Q assures PM Imran of complete support

Date:

While Pakistan Peoples Party advances its long march towards the federal capital, Prime Minister Imran Khan is looking at his allies for assurances and support.

In an effort to garner support, PM Imran rushed to Lahore on Tuesday to hold a meeting with the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid leadership.

Flanked by federal ministers Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Shafqat Mahmood, Hammad Azhar and Abdul Razzak Dawood, Special Assistant to PM Malik Amir Dogar and Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, the premier inquired after Chaudhry Shujaat’s health.

The Chaudhry brothers went on to discuss the recent meeting held between them and the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PML-N chief Shehbaz Sharif.

They further assured the premier of their unflinching support and stated that there were no chances of a no-confidence motion succeeding against him.

The Chaudhry brother have in the past month held a number of meetings with heads of almost all political parties including Shehbaz Sharif of PML-N, Asif Ali Zardari of PPP and Maulana Fazlur Rehman of JUI-F.

It is assumed that the meetings have been held to win over the government ally in case of a vote of no confidence in the parliament.

The leadership further discussed the prevailing political situation and other issues of mutual interest and Chaudhry Shujaat thanked the prime minister for asking about his health condition.

Members of the National Assembly Salik Hussain and Hussain Elahi also attended the meeting besides Shafi Hussain, Rasikh Elahi, Muntaha Ashraf and Muhammad Khan Bhatti.
