PM, Saudi Crown Prince discuss matters of mutual interest

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman in Jeddah and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.

Earlier, on his arrival at Royal Palace, he was received by the crown prince. He was also presented guard of honour on the occasion.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan wanted to transform its historic relations with Saudi Arabia into a deep and diverse strategic partnership.

In an interview with Arab News, the prime minister said that “our two countries have this special bond for the last seven decades. He said it is now our earnest desire to transform this relationship into a deep, diverse and mutually beneficial partnership”.

The prime minister said that both countries were now working on exploring new and non-conventional areas of bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on promoting economic, trade and investment ties.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Friday prayers at Masjid-e-Nabvi (SAWW) on the second day of his three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia.

On the occasion, he prayed for security, stability and prosperity of the country and the nation.

Earlier during his stay in Madina, the prime minister twice visited the grave of the Holy Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him], offered Nawafil at Riaz-ul-Jannah and Friday prayer at the Prophet’s Mosque and prayed for Pakistan’s security, development and social prosperity.

During the visit, the prime minister also held meetings with other Saudi officials and discussed matters pertaining to increasing economic and trade cooperation, enhancing investment and looking for employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia for Pakistani workforce.
