A young lady constable of the Islamabad police died under mysterious circumstances.
According to sources, lady constable Iqra, the daughter of Nazir Ahmed breathed her last during treatment at Polyclinic.
According to the sources, the late Iqra, a resident of Mansehra, was rushed to the hospital by SP Traffic Syed Arif Hussain Shah in an unconscious state.
The police officer told the hospital staff that Iqra went to a bank at 11 o’clock and after she returned home, she started vomiting and bleeding.
The police officer took her to the Polyclinic with his employee, Arif Hussain, where she died after an hour during treatment.
The police SP said that his name was in the records of the Polyclinic and he received the death certificate of Iqras. “I received the death certificate to clear all doubts. An autopsy has also been conducted on her body,” he said.
Rumors
Rumors have also surfaced that body of the lady constable was brought to the hospital wrapped in a shroud.
The person who had brought the body to the Polyclinic introduced himself as the DSP Islamabad Police and told the hospital staff that he had come to the hospital with reference to civil surgeon Abid Shah.
The person, who identified himself as Tahir Niazi, told the hospital staff that the girl was his niece and she had consumed poisonous wheat pills.
According to the sources, the hospital staff brought the matter to the notice of the police.
It also transpired that at 11 am, Iqra had left the Police Lines telling the staff that she was going to the bank at 11 am. Later at 4 pm, the news about her death surfaced. It was also reported that some unidentified person left her body in the hospital.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Police Inspector-General Muhammad Ahsan Younas has sought a report on the death of the lady constable and directed the SSP (operations) to look into the matter on merit. The Islamabad police chief said that there would be no leniency if anyone was found guilty.
According to a spokesperson for the Islamabad police, the IG has constituted a committee to probe the death of lady constable Iqra to ascertain the facts behind the death.
